Still holding on to the top model in the V4 range of the 2022 Ducati lineup is the 2022 Panigale V4 R. Although there is no update for 2022, it’s still the top dog in Ducati Motorcycle’s superbike stable. The Panigale V4 R embodies the maximum expression of Ducati values: style, sophistication, and performance.

It is the maximum expression of Ducati’s racing DNA, the Panigale V4 R is more similar to a racing prototype than any other bike. A superbike that accompanies the rider towards a dimension of advanced riding, made up of curves and straights that run incredibly fast, thanks to the electronics that allow going beyond the limits.

The 1,103cc Desmosedici Stradale of the Panigale V4 is replaced by the 998cc Desmosedici Stradale R to comply with the displacement limits imposed by the WSBK championship. In this form, the 998cc V4 delivers 221 hp and the limiter is set to 16,000 rpm (16,500 rpm on sixth gear).

With Ducati’s race kit installed, that power output soars to 234 horsepower with the overall weight of the bike dropping to 172 kg (379 lbs), the Italian Manufacturer gave the Panigale V4 R the whole nine yards to keep everything under control.

Standard equipment for the Panigale V4 R includes cornering ABS, advanced traction control, wheelie control, slide control, engine brake control, ride modes, power modes, and more. Other top features include Ohlins event-based, semi-active suspension, Brembo brakes, and a liberal splash of carbon fiber.

With all that in mind, we’re too afraid to ask for the price tag, so we opted for the LEGO Technic version of the Ducati Panigale V4 R instead. Still burned a hole in our wallets though.

The 2022 Ducati Panigale V4 R starts at MSRP: $40,000 USD / $47,995 CAD

On this page: we’ve curated specs, features, news, photos/videos, etc. so you can read up on the new 2022 Ducati Panigale V4 R in one place.

CONCEPT The Panigale V4 R is a racing bike type-approved for road use and is the technical starting point from which the official Ducati Superbike models that will compete starting from 2019 racing season derive. ENGINETop performance

The Desmosedici Stradale R is a more responsive engine that allows to ensure a greater sprint. This results in 221 HP (162 kW) that react immediately to the throttle inputs, delivered at 15,250 rpm (values referring to EU type-approval). Impressive figures that become even more amazing by fitting the full-racing exhaust Ducati Performance by Akrapovič: the maximum power to 234 HP (174 kW) at 15,500 rpm. AERODYNAMIC PACKAGERacing aerodynamics

The aerodynamic package of the Panigale V4 R includes: protective windscreen, headlight fairing and side fairings to reduce aerodynamic resistance, air extractors to reduce operating temperatures in heavy-duty racing use, and the GP16-derived carbon fibre aerodynamic appendices that increase stability in all riding phases, reduce the intervention of electronic controls and increase rider confidence, who tends to keep the throttle open for a longer time and the swingarm with adjustable pivot in four positions. The Front Frame of the Panigale V4R, developed in collaboration with the engineers of Ducati Corse, is optimised for racing use with fully mechanical Öhlins steering damper and suspensions, including the new pressurised front fork and the swinging arm with four-way adjustable pin.

The Panigale V4 R is equipped with the latest generation electronic package, that manages all riding phases, based on the use of the 6-axis inertial platform by Bosch (6D IMU – Inertial Measurement Unit). The Pit Limiter makes its debut on the bike, limiting its speed when riding in the pit lane.
